Karen L. (Mckeighan) Fuller

September 16, 1946 — December 28, 2023

Karen Fuller, 77, of Scotia, NY passed away peacefully on December 28th 2023, with her family by her side.

She was born to Sterling and Meta Mckeighan of Rupert, VT on September 16th, 1946.

She was predeceased by her father, mother and brother Jim (Elaine) and is survived by her husband of 38 years Jim Fuller, daughter Sarah, bonus daughters Patti and Pam (John), grandchildren Alexis and Kyle, sister Judy, brother John, multiple nieces and nephews, good friends and her beloved dog Jack.

She was an accomplished crafter/sewist, owning her own sewing business Karen's Kreations, for several years. Many of you reading this have one of her treasured potholders, table runners, aprons, Barbie dresses or maybe even a quilt. She spent hours behind a sewing machine or cutting table magically matching fabric by colors or prints to get things "just right". The detail she put into her work speaks volumes to the person she was. She thought of everyone first, eager to help with anything and always there to listen.

She is known for her cooking and recipe collection. If it was a picnic you know she brought her deviled eggs, if it was a party her hot potato salad was there, if it was Christmas (her favorite holiday) she was bringing everyone an assortment of cookies she had diligently made.

She loved watching her Steelers, playing Bingo, going on cruises with her sister, trying a new restaurant or new cocktail, being around family and friends and having a good time.

Above all she was known for the kindness and love she showed everyone she met. She wanted people to be happy and was willing to do whatever necessary to make that happen. Always full of smiles and ready for hugs. She showed great strength and resilience throughout her health issues and will be remembered for her perseverance. She will be missed by so many but forgotten by none, for she was a special one.

Remembered Joy:
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I followed the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

At the request of the family, there will be no services.
