Karl Douglas Stover, 70, went to be with the lord on July 25, 2010. Karl was born July 8, 1940 in Kershaw, SC to the late Thomas Jefferson Stover and Beulah Mayo Mackey. Karl was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a member of the Echoe's male chorus. Karl worked for Tobin Packing Co. for over 25 years, later with OGS where he would retire then continue to work with Annie Schaffer senior center as a custodian. In addition to his parents Karl was predeceased by his step-father James Mackey and his grandson, Kaylan Stover.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving, dutiful and devoted wife, Deborah J. Stover; his sister, Peggy S. Stover; 2 brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Mackey; his daughters, Almetta Treadway, Cassandra Stover, Delores Abbott, Carlissa Stover; his son, Douglas Stover; his step-daughters, Dionne L. Kuckel and Latik N. Townsend; his step-son, Ali C. Townsend; his nephew, Andrei Stover and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, also a host of other relatives and friends, especially his best bud, Donald Senner.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of Schenectady especially nurse Patty; aide Donna; social worker Joanne and Volunteer Ron.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church, 409 Union Street, Schenectady. A calling hour will precede the service from 9 to 10:30 at the church. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady.
