Katherine Abaire

RENSSELAER – Katherine Abaire, 53, went home to the Lord on July 19th, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Katherine was born in Albany to Paul and Loree Abaire. She is predeceased by both parents and her brother Christopher. She is survived by brothers Paul, Doug and George.

Upon learning of her diagnosis in July 2015, Katherine retired from Amtrak after 27 years of service, where she was one of the first female engineers for the Amtrak system.

Katherine was such a generous spirit. She never hesitated to offer her time and service to all her friends and family. Katherine loved the Lord and as she would say "He's got me".

Relatives and friends are invited to her wake at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Tuesday, July 26th from 5 to 7pm, followed by a Catholic service at 7 pm at the funeral home.
