Katherine F. Schroeder

Katherine F. Schroeder, 99, passed away on Thursday, Mar 28, 2013 at her home. She was born in Albany, NY to the late John and Frances Karins and has resided in the area all her life.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband George Schroeder Sr., her brothers John, Thomas, Harold, Joseph, William, James and Francis; and by her sisters Dorothy Wilson and Elizabeth and Rita Karins.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond (Dieatra) Herbst of Clifton Park, George (Sharon Rose) Schroeder Jr. of Reno, Nevada; her daughter Janice (Francis) Gilder of Albany; her sister Lillian Alger of Colonie; her four grandchildren Tracy (Michael) Schellenger, Darren (Brigette) Herbst, Kelly (Dave) Podrid and Brian Schroeder. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The Herbst, Schroeder and Gilder families would like to express their gratitude especially to Sandy and Rosealie and all the other caregivers of Hospice of Saratoga for the wonderful care they provided to Katherine.

Funeral service for Katherine will be on Thursday at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
