Katherine G. Mccoy

Guilderland – Katherine G. McCoy, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Katherine was born on September 30, 1922 in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late William M. and Catherine Schierbaum Giel.
After Katherine's sons graduated from high school she attended SUNY at Albany and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a participant in archeological digs in Cyprus for several summers. She was an avid collector of antique cameras and enjoyed tennis, golf and traveling to Europe with her husband.
Katherine is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Leo McCoy Jr.; her sons, J. Steven (Mary) McCoy, David D. (Marie) McCoy and James W. McCoy; and her grandchildren, Ellen K., Christine M., Michael T., Barbara A., Laura E. and Kelly M.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m Saturday at Christ the King Church 20 Sumpter Avenue, Guilderland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Medical Center Hospital 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Katherine G. McCoy.
