ROTTERDAM - Katherine Lorena Gurdak, 58, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Ellis Hospital.
Kathy was born on May 21, 1962 in Albany, the daughter of Suzanne (Patrick) Hallinan and William M. Layton. Wife of Damian E. Gurdak; mother of Patrick M. Gurdak and Richard D. Gurdak; sister of Michael W. (Tammy) Layton, William H. (Alison) Layton, Brian (Tracy) Layton, Suzette T. (Kevin) Luke and the late Mark J. Layton; sister-in-law of Diane D. (Arnold K. Beebe) Gurdak and the late Erika L. Gurdak; grandmother of twins, Erika L. Gurdak and Emilia Gurdak; aunt of Michael W. Layton, Ann Marie Layton, William Layton, Jennifer Layton, Tom Layton, Jessica Layton, and Nicole Minery. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 10:00 a.m. at Open Arms Church, 2714 Curry Road, Rotterdam, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the City Mission of Schenectady, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305 in memory of Kathy.
