Kathleen V. DePaulo

September 3, 1939 — January 3, 2025

Colonie

Colonie – Kathleen V. (Williams) DePaulo, age 85, of Colonie passed away in her home on January 3, 2025 with her loving family by her side.

Born on September 3, 1939 in Albany, NY, she was a Class of 1957 Graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School where she made wonderful life-long memories and was fondly referred to as “Willie”. Kathy worked for New York State Taxation and Finance before staying at home to raise her family, eventually returning to the workforce and retiring from the K-Mart Corporation.

A beloved friend to many and always the life of a party, Kathy loved spending time with her family as she lived a down-to-earth life. She enjoyed a great party, good music, a cold Coors Lite, and was always ready for a good laugh. Kathy also enjoyed crocheting, feeding the birds, spoiling her “grand dogs”, placing a friendly bet, and experiencing new things like traveling to Ireland to kiss the Blarney Stone, enjoying a “toga” party on one of her many cruises, sightseeing in Cape Cod, and watching boxing at the casino. Attending her grandchildren’s events and cheering them on brought her great joy, whether it be at cheerleading competitions, swim meets, crew events, dance recitals, or school plays. If it was with her family, she was all in.

Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family. Her sharp wit, sense of humor, generous heart, and fun-loving spirit will leave an indelible mark on all who had the great fortune to know her. Kathy is survived by the pride and joy of her life, her children who made her very proud and who will miss her terribly: Lisa (David) Henkel, David (Margaret) DePaulo, and Nancy DePaulo; and her grandchildren: Alexis DePaulo, Bryce and Brayden Henkel, Angelina, Sophia, and Dante DePaulo. She is also survived by her several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Raymond DePaulo, her mother Margaret (Killelea) Williams Penney, stepfather “Jack” Penney, and her sisters Margaret Gardner and Eleanor Cleary.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and expressions of kindness provided to Kathy throughout the years and during her illness. A special thank you to the personal care assistants Claudia and Tamara who cared so deeply for her.
