Kathleen L. Dicaprio

Kathleen L. DiCaprio, 71, passed away peacefully on February 9th at Ellis hospital. She was born in Indiana, PA to the late Shirley Webster and Richard Boord.

She was a 1969 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. She worked for AT&T before going on to NYS Thruway Authority until her retirement.

Kathleen loved to read and garden. She enjoyed hosting family functions for the holidays and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and being a "Gigi". She was a loving and compassionate woman, a hard worker who always put everyone else first. She was an avid traveler before her husband's passing.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert, daughter Jennifer Erickson, and brother Larry Boord.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter Sara Weekes, sister Barbara Boord, granddaughters Alaina Weekes and Ariana Samsundar, step son, John DiCaprio (Deanna), son in law Scott Erickson (Lisa Wells), nieces Jodi Boord (John Emmitt), Kelly Bock (Mike), Linda Bass (John), nephews Jeremy Boord (Brandi) and John Tobin (Chevonne). She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends from all walks of life, as well as her beloved dog Roxy, who was her cherished companion.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 16 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY. A funeral service will follow on Friday February 17 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
