Kathleen Elbrecht
January 15, 1948 — March 1, 2013
NISKAYUNA – Kathleen Marie (Adair) Elbrecht, 65, wife of James, mother of Megan and Adam, and constant companion of her pug, Gizmo, departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2013. Though her valiant fight against breast cancer appeared to be another of her successes, in the last months the cancer won this battle. Her pain has finally ended.
She was a graduate of Burnt Hills – Ballston Lake High School and, in 1969, Samaritan School of Nursing. Kathy spent her life serving others. Forty years as a psychiatric nurse, seven years as an Army nurse in the Army Reserve, several years as president of the New York State Autism Society and a lifetime of support for family, friends and strangers.
Interment will be at 2pm Friday, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
