Kathleen Joyce (Peckham) Lynch

February 19, 1943 — February 17, 2021

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - Kathleen (Kathy) Joyce (Peckham) Lynch, 77 years old, passed peacefully into eternal rest at The Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 consoled by her devoted husband and family.

Kathy was born in Fall River, MA on February 19, 1943, a day before her husband and in the same city, a point about which she frequently joked. Kathy was the second eldest of four daughters born to the late Raymond E. and Pauline (Brown) Peckham and was always proud to claim that she had grown up on a farm. After Kathy graduated from Case High School in 1960, where she earned letters in numerous sports and dated her future husband, she graduated from New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA in 1963 as a registered nurse. After working and saving furiously for a year, Kathy and several her good friends embarked on an extensive tour of Europe, at one point, inadvertently landing behind the "Iron Curtain".

Kathy was married to Richard at St. Louis de France Church in Swansea, MA on September 3, 1966 in one of the first Ecumenical ceremonies in the area. Kathy and Richard often attributed their nearly 55-year marriage to having been twice blessed during the ceremony, first by Kathy's minister and then by Richard's priest. Kathy was a longtime member of the Clifton Park Center Baptist Church, was an accomplished quilter, bridge player and avid member of the Church and Community choir. She especially enjoyed skiing, bicycling, and spending summers jet skiing with family and friends on Saratoga Lake, and only reluctantly and on rare occasions, flying in a plane piloted by her husband. Kathy worked as a compassionate nurse in Boston, and for 30 years in Albany, at the former Child's Hospital. Kathy and Richard enjoyed travelling, and attended many Torch Club conventions, where she relished her role as First Lady of Torch.

Kathy leaves behind her husband Richard of Malta, her son Neil and grandchildren Joseph and Anna of Hurley, NY, her son Randall, wife Emily (Keylin) and grandsons Theodore and Beauden of Norwalk, CT. Also, sisters Cynthia Dewey of Riverside, RI, Kristine and husband Barry Brown of Wrentham, MA and Patricia and husband Dwight Lanning of Benton, ME along with an extended family and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be no immediate calling hours. Funeral services, internment and a celebration of Kathy's life will be held later in the year and will be announced in advance.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North East Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, Clifton Park Center Baptist Church, or the charity of one's choice.
