COLONIE – Kathleen M. Banker, 52, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen was born on November 30, 1959 in Albany and is the daughter of William A. and Margaret E. (Brown) Shatraw. She is a loving wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, nonny, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. She had a sense of humor, love of all sports, especially NASCAR and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She also was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. She was a claims processor for many years for Blue Shield of NENY in Albany before retiring.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael A. Banker; her loving daughter, Alicia Shatraw Shepherd (Tim); her cherished grandchildren, Timmy and Bella Shepherd; her siblings, Billy Shatraw (Sharon), Lori Thornton (Thomas), and Tracey Stammel (Keith); her mother-in-law, Pat Banker; her nieces and nephews, T.J., Josh, Lyndsey, Kendra, Billy, Breanna, and Zach and her great nephew, Shane.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at cff.org in memory of Kathleen.
