COLONIE – Kathleen M. Dannehy, 70, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Kathleen was born on October 15, 1935 in Burlington, VT and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Eveline Blanchette Barrett. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy of Burlington, VT. She attended Trinity College before starting a career as a flight attendant with the former Mohawk Airlines. On July 13, 1968, she married Edward Dannehy.
Kathleen had a heart of gold and was generous to all. A lover of animals, she was always providing for various dogs and stray cats. Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Kathleen is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Tim and Kristi Dannehy of Guilderland and Christopher and Adrienne of Watervliet; her former husband, Edward; her sisters, Sr. Joyce Barrett, R.S.M. of Burlington, VT and Colleen Pelkey and brother-in-law Harry Pelkey of Charlotte, VT; her cherished granddaughter, Leah Kathryn; her niece, Colleen Myers; her nephew, Will Pelkey and her dear friends, Ginger Reid, Fran Menz and Dawn Lynch. She is also survived by three great nieces, two great nephews and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Sr. Lorainne Barrett, R.S.M. and Arlene Barrett and her brother, Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to St. Francis de Sales Church (Maria Drive) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
