Colonie- Kathleen Mary MacFarland 78 passed away peacefully on July 8th at home. Born in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Kate (Edwards) MacFarland.
Kathleen was a resident of the Town of Colonie for over 50 years. She worked as a Nurse for the VA Hospital in Albany for over 35 years. Kathleen was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. In her free time she loved spending time with her family, baking (especially for the holidays), painting, working in her yard and reading.
Along with her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her sister Jane "Carol" MacFarland, her Brother Kenneth and Sister-in-Law Margaret Ann MacFarland. She is survived by her Son, Craig (Lori Wilmot) Buonora, brother, Joseph (Barbara) MacFarland: six nieces, two nephews and three cousins; six great nieces and nine great nephews, and one great-great nephew and one great-great niece.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Kathleen's name.
