Kathleen M. Peterson
August 20, 1959 — March 3, 2016
Guilderland- Kathleen M. Peterson, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 3, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with glioblastoma. She was born in Albany to Nancy E. Hotaling and the late Carl C. Fink.
Kathleen worked for Guilderland Central Schools for many years. She took special pride in helping her students throughout her career. Kathleen loved to camp and travel with her family. She enjoyed participating in her husband's passion of dirt track racing for many years. Kathleen's greatest joy was her grandchildren and being an active part of their lives.
In addition to her father, Kathleen was predeceased by her brother, Duane Fink.
Kathleen will be remembered by her loving husband of 37 years, Dwight Peterson; her children: Jamie (Aaron) Tannatta, Haley Peterson, and Tyler (Jessica) Peterson; her grandchildren: Aaron, Rhyan, Calen, Shayne, Tanner, and Brenna; her siblings: Carl R. (Patty) Fink and James Fink; as well as extended family, many friends and caretakers.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 4-7:30 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:30pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
