COLONIE- Kathleen "Kay" M. Thomas, 94, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, with her loving family by her side.
Kay was born on July 2, 1921 to the late Richard C. Adams and Catherine Gannon Adams in Albany, NY. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and Albany Business College. She then began work at New York Telephone. She was also employed by South Colonie Central High School. In 1946 she married Donald F. Thomas, her husband of 46 years until his passing in 1992. Kay's passion in life was her family. She was a lifelong, active member of Our Lady of Mercy of Colonie. She belonged to The Rosary Society, The Hart Senior Center, and Loudonville Arts and Crafts. She attended mass daily at OLM.
Kay is predeceased by her loving husband, Donald F. Thomas, her siblings; Richard Adams, and Elizabeth Conrad, and her cousin, Ann Spratt.
She is survived by her children; Donald F. (Dana) Thomas, Stephen (Michelle) Thomas, Jack (Beth) Thomas, her grandchildren; Danielle (David), Christopher, Kelly (David), Bryan, Grace, and Matthew, her great-granddaughter, Gianna, her sister, Helen Shields, and her loving niece, Barbara Sumner. She will be remembered by all of her many close nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, October 2, 2015, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Kay on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00am at Christ our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY, 12210.
