Kathleen J. Young

Kathleen J. Young (Maynard), 68, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Albany on May 27, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Joyce Maynard.

Kathy was a graduate of BKW in 1974. She was a devoted employee of IGT in Schenectady for 25 years until her retirement in 2024. Kathy enjoyed spending time outdoors, listening to music with a cup of coffee in her hand, and was an avid reader. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, as they were her pride and joy.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Mark Young; children, Darrick Zwack (Tess) and Beth Gagliardi (Mike); step-children, Christopher Young and Hannah Young (Chris); adored grandchildren, Memphis and Corbin Gagliardi, and Tommi and David Zwack; siblings, Linda McGrath (Andy), Al Maynard (Gayle), Ed Maynard (Lisa), Frank Maynard (Cheryl), Jim Maynard; and her cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A celebration of life will follow the calling hours at New Salem Volunteer Fire Department, 694 New Salem Rd, Voorheesville, NY 12186.
