Kathryn E. Grady

SCHENECTADY – Kathryn E. Grady, 55, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Leroy and Katherine Brown. Kathy lived in Schenectady for all of her life. She was an educator for the Schenectady City School District for twenty-eight years. Kathy's passion was teaching and she loved all of her students. She also enjoyed crocheting, crosswords and playing games.

Kathy is the beloved wife of Joseph B. Grady. She is the devoted mother of Timothy J. (Jessica) Knightes, Jason S. (Elizabeth) Knightes and Nathan D. (Marissa) Knightes . She is the stepmother of April and Jason Grady. Kathy is the loving sister of Carol Chandler, Nick Brown, Howard Brown and the late Roy Brown. Also surviving is her cherished grandchild, Jordan C. Knightes as well as several nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A service will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Grady.
