Kathryn A. Spencer

June 15, 1933 — January 7, 2025

Guilderland-
Kathryn Ann Spencer, 91, of Monroe Court, formerly of West Berne and Canajoharie, passed away on January 7, 2025, following a long illness.

Born in Albany on June 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James Bradt and Ethel Esterbrooks.

Kathryn was a graduate of Guilderland Central in 1952. Kathryn was a Registered Nurse, beginning her career in the emergency room in Amsterdam. She spent many years working at nursing homes throughout the Capital Region, including the Guilderland Center and Teresian House, where she had the remarkable ability to brighten the spirits of the residents.

Kathryn loved to travel, visiting all 50 states and eight Canadian provinces, and took bus tours around Iceland and New Zealand, and cruised down the Rhine River. In her travels, she enjoyed looking for lighthouses and flowers. Kathryn enjoyed the aqua aerobic classes at the Guilderland YMCA, and was often the oldest person in the pool.

Kathryn supported our local pro hockey and baseball teams, and could find her at many River Rat, Devil, and Valley Cat games over the years.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was predeceased by her son, Guy Lindemann, of West Berne.

Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Spencer; four children, Gary Lindemann of Salt Lake City, Utah, Judy Lindemann Henderson of Boyntonville, Barbara Lindemann Barsky of Seattle, Washington, and Randy Irons of Geneva, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
