Colonie- Kathryn (Hughes) Thomas, 86, of Colonie passed away, after a long illness, on Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Anna May (Heim) Hughes. Kay retired from the Office of the New York State Comptroller in 1990.
Kay is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Arthur M. Thomas. She is the devoted mother of Kathleen (William) Kerwin and Arthur (Glenn Dragone) Thomas. She is the proud grandmother of Mark (Jenna) Kerwin. Kay is also survived by her sister Anna Mae McDonald (late Edmund), her brother Raymond (Diane) Hughes, her sister-in-law Avis Hughes, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Brown and her brother James Hughes.
There will be a graveside funeral service on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10 a.m., Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Colonie, NY 12205.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany, NY.
