COLONIE – Kay Duane Knapp, passed away on November 19, 2005 at The Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy. He was born in Newton, NE and was the son of the late Mabel and Theodore Knapp. Mr. Knapp served in the United States Navy during World War II and received the Purple Heart for wounds he received as a result of enemy action in the Southwest Pacific area on January 17, 1945. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he came East in 1946, settled in the Colonie area and worked as an engineer for General Electric Company in the gas turbine section, retiring in 1988. Kay was a long time friend of the Paloski Family of Colonie.
Funeral services and interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
