ALBANY-Keith A Stark, 85, of Albany, passed away peacefully Monday night, surrounded by members of his loving family.
Keith was born in Massena NY, son of the late Hubert and Pheby Cummings Stark. Keith served his country in the US Army Air Force after graduating from Massena High School and later attended Veterans Vocational School in Troy. At the age of 17, he met Faith Babcock, the love of his life. They were married in 1951 and celebrated 62 years together. Keith worked for AT&T Communications.
No one enjoyed retirement more than Keith. He immersed himself in hobbies, creating many sketches, paintings, and wood carvings for family and friends, and playing chess and visiting with his beloved grand- and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Faith, Keith is survived by his children: Stephen (Meg) Stark, Karen (Douglas Record) Stark, Shelley (Frank) Smith, Paul (Caroline) Stark, Mark (Madeline) Stark, and Valerie (Vince) Nicotina. Keith is also survived by his twin brother Ken (Betty) Stark of Hyde Park. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth McAllister of Snohomish WA.
Also survived by grandchildren Laura Kelly, Loretta Stark, Katie Coonradt, Alison Secor, Alexandra Stark; Helen and Owen Record; Francis and Keith Smith; Connor and Kieran Stark; Mitchell, Adam, Jacob, and Keith Stark; Colin, Eric, and Garrett Nicotina; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 3-7 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Central Avenue in Albany.
