Kelly A. Riley

March 10, 1961 — November 8, 2022

GLENVILLE – Kelly A. Riley, 61, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at her home, in the arms of her loving family, after a short battle with lung cancer and interstitial lung disease.

Kelly was born on March 10, 1961 in Schenectady, daughter of the late George and Mary Lou (Anderson) Moffett. She was a graduate of the Linton High School Class of '79 and later received her Associate's degree in Nursing.

Kelly was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years with most of her career spent at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. From her days as a young child, she enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake, a place where loved ones have gathered for over four generations since 1926. She met the love of her life, Mike, on a St. Patrick's Day ski trip to Vermont in 1979. While they continued to ski in the mountains of New York and New England with family and friends for the rest of their lives, Kelly also loved to vacation anywhere that was warm and had a beach. They took many trips along the Atlantic coast and Caribbean, making particularly special memories in Dewey Beach, Virginia Beach, Punta Cana, and Aruba. She and Mike were always quick to pack their bags and head out to explore places new and old, whether by car, motorcycle, or plane. Kelly was an adventurous spirit who lived life to the fullest; from jumping off the Batchellerville Bridge as a teen to skydiving from a prop plane as a grandmother. The love she shared touched the lives of so many, and will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

Kelly is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Michael J. Riley; her loving son and daughter-in-law, Michael R. and Kimberly Riley; her loving daughter, Krysten L. Riley; her adored grandchildren, Nolan Patrick and Penelope Jane Riley; her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Joseph Daley; her sister, Ann Kaskel; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kelly was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Christopher Moffett.
