COLONIE - Kenneth Glenn "Lou" Holbrook, 83, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born on April 2, 1931 in Greenwich, NY and was the son of the late Michael L. and Gladys (Squires) Holbrook. He served his country proudly in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a machinist and plant manager for Strecks in Watervliet and prior to that he worked for NL Industries. He enjoyed camping, sailing, gardening, sports, and spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Joe Reinhart of Portland, OR; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Lynda (Porcaro) Holbrook of Colonie; and his grandchildren, Kurt and Kirsten Reinhart.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Pressner) Holbrook and his sister, Beverly Berry.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment services will take place at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 301 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Ken.
