Kenneth Earl "Kenny" Jackson entered this life on October 29, 1946, in Albany, NY. He was the eldest of four children born to Clarence and Hattie Jackson. On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, following a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's Disease, Kenny departed peacefully to live in everlasting with the Lord.
For more than 30 years, Kenny worked for the Albany Medical Center in the Department of Transportation and Supplies. He treasured his work at the hospital and made many friends with his co-workers. After retirement, he stayed connected with many former colleagues.
Kenneth enjoyed watching sports, playing softball, listening to music, dancing, singing and travelling. He especially enjoyed going on bus trips to Atlantic City, among other casinos in the Northeast.
He was a member of Israel A.M.E. Church in Albany, where he was nurtured from a young age. In his youth, he served as a Youth Delegate to the New York Annual Conference and received his first Bible as a result. Kenny was a member of the Chancel Choir, where he sang bass along with the late Hoover Garland.
Along with his friends from church, he formed a group called "Henry, Vi, and Lincolns." One of Kenny's greatest joys was performing at the Apollo Theater Amateur Night in Harlem, NY.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hattie Jackson. Among the many who will cherish his memory, are his loving Sister, Edna L. Jackson; two brothers, Philip and Bryant Jackson; and a host of cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Israel A.M.E. Church Board of Trustees in his honor.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 16th from 11am-12pm with a service to begin at 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205. Services will be livestreamed. Interment to follow in Memory Gardens.
