Loudonville- Kenneth W. Leis, 76, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Sunday May18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York City, he is the son of the late Frank and Gisela Leis.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following the war, Ken returned home and began working as a laborer with the Local #190, and later retired from the New York State Corrections Dept. after more than 25 years of service. Ken was a member of N.Y.S.C.O.B.A., American Legion Zaloga Post # 1520, K of C Council # 173, Polish American Citizens Club and Troy Elks # 141. He was also an avid golfer, fisher, dart player and diehard fan of The New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Deanna "Penny" (Girzone) Leis, his daughter Deborah (Kimberly VanAvery) Leis, his sister-in-law Christine Raybine, and friend Hank Wagoner. Ken will also be dearly missed by his Friday night poker club.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Albany Medical Center D-wing 4th Floor Oncology for their extraordinary care of Ken during his illness.

Funeral services for Ken will be held Thursday May 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling hours will be on Wednesday May 21st from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
