Guilderland, Kenneth N. Baker, 59, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Robert and Wanita Baker. Ken was the owner and operator of Empire Exterior Corporation for a number of years until his retirement on October 1, 2006. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Pinehaven Country Club. He loved Yankees baseball, U-Conn Basketball, and Giants football. Ken had an amazing spirit, always joking and kidding. He was loved by everyone and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Ken's family would like to express sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospital for the compassion and care given to them and to Ken.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Dawn Baker, his cherished son Kevin Baker, his brother Melvin (JoAnn) Baker, his nephew Mel and niece Melissa. He is also survived by many other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
