LATHAM – Kenneth W. White, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany.
Born on May 16, 1921 in Troy, he was the son of the late David and Hazel (Meyers) White. He was educated in the Lansingburgh School District. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII attaining the rank of Private First Class. He was employed by Rushmore and Weber in Colonie for over 25 years, before retiring in 1985. Ken took great pride in the upkeep of his home inside and out, and he was also handy with mechanical projects including fixing his son and son-in-law's cars. He was a NY Yankee and NY Giant fan and enjoyed traveling.
Ken is survived by his loving children, Ronald K. (Nancy) White of Voorheesville and Nancy C. (Richard) Moran of Clifton Park; his sister, Phyllis White of Latham; his grandchildren, Michele M. (Jeffrey) Digman of Burnt Hills, David R. (Michelle) Moran of Knoxville, TN, Jayson R. (Lori) White of Ballston Spa, and Joshua R. (Cara) White of Latham; and his great-grandchildren, Emily and Lily Digman, Rylee White, and Braden White. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn Mae (Marbot) White and his sister, Elaine Roberts.
The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Sue Matthews and the 3rd floor staff at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehab for the loving care given to Ken.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at the funeral home. Interment, Memory Gardens in Colonie.
