ALBANY- Kerry B. Thompson, age 52, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2020.
He was born in Albany, the son of the late Martin A. Thompson and Catherine M. Manley. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna Bazicki.
Kerry was the beloved Chief Deputy and friend of the Albany County Sheriff's Department. He was entrenched in his community. His mission was to help the community in various ways, including the Albany County Stop DWI Program, MADD Program, Victims Advocacy Program, inmate rehabilitation program and many others.
Kerry was the caretaker of anyone he came in contact with. He was a dedicated, loving son to his mother and was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Besides his mother, Kerry is survived by his sons: Buddy and Tyler Thompson and his grandson, Jaxon Thompson; wife, Anne Thompson; two sisters: Linda Mead and Michele Dunican; two brothers: Martin and Michael Thompson and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 p.m. All are invited.
