Kevin A. Young Sr.

Kevin A.Young Sr., 56, went home to be with his mother on November 24, 2015.

He was born September 28, 1959 in Albany, New York, the son of James E. Young and the late Delores (Bland) Thomas.

Kevin was a fun happy outgoing person. He was laid back and family oriented, he was a devoted father, brother, son and friend. Kevin was a man that did what needed to be done. The word "no" was not in his vocabulary, if you asked him for something, didn't matter what it was, he was going to make sure it was taken care of.

Kevin is survived by his children, Tychele, Aja, Kevin Jr. and Keyona Young; his long time companion, Bernestine Andrews; step-daughter, Shameka Andrews; his father, James E. Young, brothers Tyrone Young, Mark Scott; sisters, Linda A. Stallworth, Stacia V. (Brian) Smith, Jacqueline Lyons, Jannie Scott; grandchildren, Tajanae and Tajaliek Earl, Samiah, Kayaviana and Shareef Young, Zavion (Scooter) Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Thomas and brothers, James Charles Young and James Earl Young.

A funeral service will be held at New Comer Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 12:00pm. Visitation will be held prior to services from 10:00am-12:00pm on Thursday. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery on Friday, December 4 at 1:00pm.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Obeid and all of the staff at the Albany Med. ICU and St. Peter's responsible for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Kevin and his family during a difficult time.
