GUILDERLAND – Kevin J. Alvaro, 52, of Guilderland, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 30, 2021.
He was born in Niskayuna on January 16, 1969 a son of John L. "Jack" and Margaret "Peg" (Donohue) Alvaro. Kevin graduated in 1987 from Colonie Central High School and earned his Bachelors' Degree in Accounting at Siena College.
Kevin worked for the State of New York Dept. of Tax and Finance and as an Accountant for several companies in the greater capital district.
Kevin loved sports and was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines, the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a little league coach in baseball and youth basketball.
Kevin was very engaging and had the gift of starting a conversation with anyone he met. He was the brightest light in the room and brought laughter everywhere he went. He will be truly missed.
He was predeceased by his dearest dog, "Lucky".
Kevin was survived by the love of his life, his wife of 6 years, Kathleen (Lanoue) Alvaro. Eleven years ago, they were both able to rediscover each other again. He is also survived by his father; his mother; his stepchildren, Amanda (Alec) Jordan, Kimbrianne (Kris) Rock; 3 step grandchildren, Christopher, Roselyn and Aston Jordan; his sister, Sharon (Jeff) Toms; his special nephew and niece, Nathan and Abby. He is also survived by his best friend, Scott Reedy.
Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Kevin's Memory.
