SCOTIA- First Lieutenant Kevin Christopher Fallon, 30, passed away on September 15, 2016 at his home.
Kevin was born on August 18, 1986 in Albany, NY. Kevin was a scholar and an athlete. He was a graduate of Bishop Maginn High School in Albany and Union College in Schenectady where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science.
After college Kevin began serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard. Upon graduation from Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, GA, Kevin joined the 42d Infantry (Rainbow) Division in Troy, NY. After joining the 42d Infantry Division, 1LT Fallon attended Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Lee, VA where he received his Area of Concentration as a Logistical Officer. He then began working in the G3- Operations Office as Active Duty Operational Support in a number of different missions. During this time he was also assigned in the Division G4, Logistics Office. After promotion to First Lieutenant he was appointed to be the General's Aide de Camp in the 42d Infantry Division Headquarters, Command Group where he served Brigadier General Yaple, the Deputy Commanding General- Maneuver.
Additionally Kevin enjoyed his work as a claims adjuster at Travelers Insurance in Albany, NY.
Kevin lived life with a passion and met every challenge head on. This was exemplified as he fiercely and courageously battled cancer for more than 3 years. He had an incredible sense of humor, whether tormenting his siblings or being the class clown, he loved making people laugh. He had a love for music and art; he was rarely without his guitar close by. His talent and creativity could be heard in his music and seen in his many sketches and drawings.
Kevin greatly cherished his relationship with his fiancé Jessica Gardinier and her children, Kayden and Brody. Regardless of the challenges he faced in his struggles with his health he always made the time to walk them to and from school, to laugh with them and show them the positive side of life. The time they spent together was always treasured.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Barbara Place-Fallon (Jim Corbett) of Wynantskill and Christopher (Maureen) Fallon of Guilderland; his fiance, Jessica Gardinier and her children, Kayden and Brody of Scotia; sister, Kelly Fallon of Rhode Island; brother, Sean Fallon of Albany; step-brother and step-sister, Ian and Liz Tapler of Guilderland; his maternal grandmother, Mary Place; his godfather, James Fallon of Rockville Center and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his godmother, Mary Beth Ryan; his maternal grandfather, Vincent Place and paternal grandfather, James Fallon.
A funeral service to celebrate Kevin's life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 11:00am at New Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 19, 2016 from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be held following services on Tuesday at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
