Melrose -
Kevin C. Halloran, a kind man noted for his wit, passed away peacefully, surrounded by music, poetry, chat and familial love on December 13, 2020.
Born in Cohoes to Georgiana Cole Halloran and Francis D. Halloran on July 19, 1934, he attended Vincentian and Siena, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a beloved English teacher at Hoosic Valley High School. He experienced great joy from connecting with people wherever he was, face to face, over the phone and as a writer, including op-ed pieces in this paper and the Schenectady Gazette. His writing encompassed his quirky humor and most importantly, his belief in social justice.
His name lives on through his love for Eve Francesca Sweeney Halloran, his wife of 56 years; his children, Pegeen (Jeff) Jensen, Amy (Jack Magai) Halloran, Elissa (Chris McCallion) Halloran, Nathaniel (Sara McKenna) Halloran; grandchildren, Molly and Sophie Jensen, Francis and Leander (Felix) Magai and Finnegan Halloran; his brother, Michael Halloran and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Halloran and his sister, Cathal Kennedy.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Kevin's name may be made to Joseph's House and the Food Pantries for the Capital District.
