Schenectady- Kimberly Marie Filkins (Cohen), 58, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2022.
Born on April 22, 1964 daughter of the late Joyce Filkins.
Kim will be remembered as a devoted wife, partner, grandmother and friend. She loved music and dancing, boat rides with Marty and being outdoors. She will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Filkins and her beloved cat Gizzy.
She is survived by her children Nicole Close (Matt Estes), Thomas Close Jr. (Tegan), Jennifer Close (Jamal Belle), partner of 34 years, Clarence Cohen; grandchildren, Mercedes Estes, Mya Estes, Matthew Estes Jr., Olivia Berg, Nasir Belle, Thomas Close III; siblings, Earl Filkins, Robin Weidman, Lori Heffner, Christine Mastrobuono and many other relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A service will begin at 11.
