SCHENECTADY - Kirk A. Flick crossed over on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Ellis Hospital after a long fight with cancer.
Kirk was born in Schenectady and for the last ten years worked for Capital OTB in the basement with many good friends as a programmer for TV ch 12. He was loved and admired by many there.
Things that mattered most to him were the truth, his loved ones, his friends and of course his four cats, Sam, Spike, Kali and Tom the cat.
Hobbies include creating or repairing computers, building and playing his guitars, songwriting, nature, fishing, and NASCAR racing.
Kirk was a kind, generous, curious, loyal, and gentle soul.
He leaves behind his life companion, Victoria LaDuke. His best friend, Ron LaPoint. His sister, Cindy (Ken) Parrish of N.C. His friend and brother-in-law, Gordy Brown of N.C. His step sister, Denise (John) Morton of Florida. He also leaves behind his father, William L. Flick of N.C. He was predeceased by his mother, Etta L. (Wetherell) Flick.
There will be a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend on Sunday Sept. 4th at 2pm. Anyone wishing to attend please call 518-377-7226 for info and directions.
Being an animal lover, Kirk would like it if you would send a donation in his name to Robin's Nest Animal Rescue, c/o Robin Paniccia, 249 Zicha Rd., Howes Cave, NY 12092.
We will all miss him very much.
