NEW BALTIMORE - Kirk Douglas Porter, 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from a brief illness.
Born to William Jr. and Mary K. Porter on December 5, 1964 in Albany, NY, he finished school in 1983 and continued to reside in Greene County for most of his life.
Kirk was predeceased by his parents, a brother, William III, and a nephew, Craig. He leaves behind a brother, David (Melissa); a daughter, Shannon (Jonathan); a son, Kyle; and two young granddaughters. He is also remembered by his many cousins, extended family, and friends.
Kirk loved sports, the outdoors, and most of all, anything with an engine. He loved to snowmobile, drag race, jet ski, anything that went fast. He had a knack for mechanics and operated the Earlton garage with his family for several years.
It is no secret that Kirk had struggles with addiction that consumed the best of him throughout his entire life. There will be no services at this time. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
