Kristofor Johnson

March 27, 1975 — March 1, 2019

Kristofor Johnson of Albany, NY passed away March 1, 2019 at Albany Medical Center.

Kris was born March 27, 1975 in Bridgeport, CT. Beloved son of Eric Johnson in Meriden, CT and Kristin Pawlitz in Elizabethton, TN. He grew up in Branford, CT and was a graduate of Branford H.S and Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a culinary degree. He is survived by both parents, sister, Karen E. Johnson in Branford, CT and her children Svea and Eric; sister, Britta Johnson in Asheville, NC, step-mother, Karen A. Johnson in Meriden, CT and step-father, Don Pawlitz in Elizabethton, TN.

He leaves behind many friends from Branford H.S. where he was known and loved as "Tank".

He was a very talented chef working for many fine restaurants in CT, RI and finally NY.

He loved cooking huge meals for his friends and family regularly and up until the very end.

It was his way of expressing his love and care because he rarely expressed that with his words. He'd put his heart and soul into fixing a good meal for his people.

A long time Red Sox fan. He is one of 5 generations of Johnsons to see the Sox win a World Series and one of 4 generations to see the Sox win 4 World Series.

His passion was fishing. He spent many hours fishing with lifelong friends in CT, RI and NY. He called his Dad nearly every day, sending many striped bass and walleye pictures of fish he'd caught in the Hudson in Albany and its tributaries. He will also be missed by his Albany friends and neighbors.

He was a very calm, kindhearted soul with a strong work ethic. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.

He will be cremated and a memorial service will be in Branford, CT, to be announced at a later date on website: www.NewComerAlbany.com.
