Larry D. Cancer was awarded his wings on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 at 5:27 am surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on February 23, 1954, to David and Virlee Cancer in Oxford, Mississippi.
Larry loved spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and singing. Larry loved bringing fish home to share with his family and friends.
Larry was a longtime chef who enjoyed traveling to different states utilizing his culinary talents. While employed in the culinary field Larry had the pleasure to work in Tennesee, Miami, FL, and Daytona Beach before relocating to Albany, NY. Larry retired from Julie Blair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 2022, where he was head Chef. Before working at Julie Blair, Larry was employed at Glenmont Job Corps.
In his departure, Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory 7 sisters, Mary (Daytona Beach, FL), Mattie, Debra Shirley, Vickey (Dan Mitri), Angela (Rodney Elliott), all of Albany, NY, and Ashley of Oxford, MS; 4 brothers, David and Mary Ellen (Daytona Beach, FL), James (Essence) and Lillian of North Carolina, and Anthony (Allah Son) and Donald (Usheen) and Shifra of Albany, NY; 3 children Lisa Smith and Tina Suggs of Tennesee, and his only son Lee Crumb of Springfield, IL. He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, his grand-children and 3 aunts.
Larry was predeceased by his parents David and Virlee Cancer, his sisters Sallie and Edna Cancer and Pam Milan, and his lifetime partner Christina Timmons.
