Larry Darnell Mott

Larry Darnell Mott was born September 6, 1960 to Jessie Faye Heggins and the late Walter Lee Mott. He departed this life on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.

Larry graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, in Brooklyn, NY then went on to NYC Technical College at night, where he took art classes. Larry loved to draw comic books and make arts and crafts.

Larry moved to Albany, New York and worked for New York State for thirteen years, until he was unable to work.

In that time, Larry met the love of his life, Lavern Lucas Mott and were together for 30 years before her passing. Together they have 3 children, Shawny Mott Lucas, Devin Mott and Emond Lucas (deceased).

Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Jessie Faye Heggins of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Gwendolyn Mott and Pamela Renee Mott, all from Brooklyn, NY and his brother, Darrell Heggins from Albany, NY.

Larry also leaves nine grandchildren and one niece, Kaisha Mott and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his longtime friends from the block on which he lived for thirty-five years.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery.
