Larry N. Houck, 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. Larry worked for 38 years for Schenectady General Electric before retiring June 1st, 2011. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and served in Germany during this conflict. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Christina Houck and two brothers, Harold and Roger. Larry loved playing with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and Nascar.
Larry is the beloved husband of Elma K. (Hadsell), the father of Amie (Stephen) Burnside, Jason Houck and Steven (Christina) Houck, cherished grandfather (Poppy, Popster) to Trevor, Mackenzie, Remington, Alexandra and Nicholas. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Marjorie Irwin, Warren Houck, Dolores (Butch) Klink, Donald (Carol) Houck, Lewis (Linda) Houck and Louise (Russell) Irwin and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York One Mustang Dr., Cohoes, NY 12047 or to Community Hospice of Albany County 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in Larry's memory.
