Rotterdam – Larry R. Armstrong, 66, of Rotterdam, formerly of Valatie and Colonie passed away Tuesday September 14, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Larry was born in Amarillo, Texas, raised in New York City and moved to Colonie in the early fifties where he graduated from Colonie High School. Larry and his beloved wife, Barbara were married October 6, 1973 and worked side by side for 25 years as the owner/operators of a diner in Valatie. He also operated a lunch trailer that provided food for many construction workers on area jobs in places such as Utica and Comstock. Larry and his wife both agreed they had a fun filled life meeting people from all over the state.
In addition to his devoted wife Barbara, Larry is survived by his much loved son Christian Armstrong (Christina Crider), cherished granddaughter Kayla Armstrong, sister Dianne Waddell (Daryl) and several nieces, nephew, grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers William J. Armstrong and James J. Armstrong.
The funeral service will be Friday 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
