Laura D. Meier

SCHENECTADY – Laura D. Meier, 83, passed away on Monday, December 08, 2008 at Baptist Retirement Center. Born in Schenectady, she was the last of nine children of the late Frank and Laura Dougherty. Mrs. Meier was a resident of Guilderland for most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. Laura was the beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Meier. She is the devoted mother of Carol (Paul) Begley, Donald (Lucille) Meier, William Meier and James (Kathleen) Meier. Also surviving are eight cherished grandchildren and seven loving great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Baptist Retirement Ceneter for all of the love and care they gave to Laura during her stay with them.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Retirement Center, 297 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 in memory of Laura D. Meier.
