COLONIE – Laura E. Edwards, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Laura was born in Gloucester, VA on August 29, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Jessie and Mary (Dallas) Brace. She worked for St. Peter's Hospital as an occupational therapist.
Laura is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Charles W. Edwards; her son, Charles Craig (Karen) Edwards of Poughkeepsie; her daughter, Wanette E. (Clay) Alston of Albany; her grandchildren, Devon Charles Edwards, Tiara Alston, Elijah Alston, and Jamison Franklin; her twin brother, Jesse (Priscilla) Brace Jr.; her sisters, Maryann Brace, Joyce Collins, and June Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Marie Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Metropolitan New Testament Mission Baptist Church, 105 Second St., Albany. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment Memory Gardens in Colonie.
