Laura M. Russo

Colonie – Laura M. Russo, 49, passed away peacefully Thursday May 20, 2010 at home with her beloved husband Patrick at her side.
Laura was born in Ithaca, NY a daughter of the late Vernon and Elaine House. She moved to Albany as a young woman and has called the capital area home since. Earlier in life, Laura worked as a Nurses Aide for Albany County Nursing Home then she owned and operated her own daycare as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed cooking and ceramics but most of all she had a love of animals, especially her Bichon Frise dogs. Laura and Pat were introduced to the breed when they received their first puppy as a gift from Pat's mother, Rose, around Christmas, 1991.
In addition to her devoted husband of 25 years, Patrick Russo, she is also survived by her sister, Mildred (William) Moore of Syracuse, her brother, Paul House of Ithaca, her sister-in-law, Teresa Soultanian of Scottsdale, AZ. and several nieces and nephews and her second family – The Nelsons of Ithaca. Laura is also survived by her canine companions Kadi and Heidi.
The funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
