Loudonville- Laura T. Bernard, 73, of Loudonville, passed away on April 20, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at Ellis Hospital. She was born at home in East Durham, NY and was the daughter of the late Sophie and Felix Stronczek. She was a graduate of Greenville Central Rural School.
Laura was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a mother to many throughout her life, and touched so many hearts wherever she went. Throughout her long and often difficult battle we would especially like to thank Dr. Goodman and his wonderful staff for being the loving, devoted and caring family that they were. Our Mom loved life to the fullest and cherished her family, grandchildren and friends.
She is the beloved wife of fifty years to Richard C. Bernard; Devoted Mother of Richard (Rose) Bernard, Renee Bernard, Lori (Rick) Rodino and Lisa (Mark) Rochminski; loving grandmother to Nick Bernard, Anthony, Gianna and Rachel Rodino; sister to Wady Hastings, Virginia Vantassel, Phillis Hines; sister-in-law to Donald (Harriet) Bernard. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:15 at Newcomer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Pius X Church. Loudonville at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.
