Laurie A. Danz

Rotterdam – Laurie Ann (Burger) Danz, 60, died at home on Saturday, October 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband, family and close friends, after a two plus year battle with ovarian cancer.
Laurie was born in Schenectady on October 12, 1957 to Robert S. Burger and the late Maureen E. Furlong Burger.
Laurie was a 1975 graduate of Linton High School, attended Spencer Business Institute, and worked in the Schenectady area, with her most recent job at F&J Inspections as Office Manager.
Laurie enjoyed going to the Rotterdam Elks Club, their yearly bus trips to Atlantic City with close friends, and spending time with her extended family and many nieces and nephews.
Laurie was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Robert Danz and Brian T. Woods.
Laurie is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Dennis F. Danz; her father, Robert S. Burger; her brother, Robert E. Burger; her sister, Donna M. Woods (late Brian); brothers-in-law, Stephen (Debbie) Danz, Richard (Barbara) Danz, Brian Danz and Bruce Danz; sister-in-law, Patricia Marx (Peter Bubb); her Aunt Casey; an uncle; cousins, many nieces and nephews, close friends; and her trusty canine companion, Fozzy. Laurie was proud and honored to be "Aunt Laur Laur" to her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone at Women's Cancer Care Associates (WCCA), especially Dr. Joyce Barlin, Barbara Mahar and the entire staff.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, October 27 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be at 10 am on Saturday, October 28 at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
