LATHAM – Lavernne P. Bielawa, 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Samaritan Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1939 in Upper Jay, NY and was the daughter of the late James C. and Florence C. (Lareau) Booth. She was a homemaker having raised her children and some of her grandchildren.
Lavernne is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Edward T. Bielawa; her loving children, Sue (John) Collins, Thomas Bielawa, Denise Brown, Deborah Bielawa, and Melissa Bielawa; her brother, Paul (Gail) Booth; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia Horton and her brother, Leonard Booth.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
