Lawrence R Carlow

Lawrence R Carlow (Larry), 81 of Glenville passed away on April 22, 2024 at home with his family by his side.

He was born in Schenectady on November 14,1942, the son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Carlow. He attended schools in Middleburgh and graduated from Burnt Hills High School.

Larry served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force with a specialty in non-Morse Intcp. And was stationed in Turkey and Japan. After he left the Air Force, he attended Albany Business College where he met his wife, Donna (Reutzel) when he was giving blood, fainted and needed a ride home. He went onto receive his bachelors degree from the College of St. Rose. Larry worked for the Federal Government Department of IRS for over 30 years.

He and Donna lived in Rotterdam for 40 years where they raised their two daughters until 2014 when they moved to Glenville to be closer to their grandchildren.

Larry had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially at his son-in-laws. He was an avid sports fan who loved Notre Dame and the Clemson Tigers. He could often be found on the sidelines of his daughters' softball games and this continued on to his granddaughters' games. He enjoyed spending time at Sacandaga Lake and cherished family vacations to Maine every summer.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Larry is survived by his wife, Donna and daughters Carrie (Greg) Rashford and Robin (Spencer) Falco and his granddaughters, Jordan and Emily Falco. He is also survived by his sister Joan Gabos (FL) and brother William Carlow (Burnt Hills)and many nieces and nephews.

Internment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville on May 13 at 11am. There will be no calling hours.
