Lawrence Paul Hilt, Sr., 75, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Lawrence was the son of the late Walter and Hazel Hilt. Lawrence was the devoted husband to the late Alice E. Hilt who passed away September 2021.
Lawrence proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was an avid hunter, loved tinkering in the garage, gardening and caring for his animals. He loved to cook and entertain his family.
Lawrence is survived by his children, Larry, Jr. (Melissa), Stacey (Bob), Randy (Kristine); his grandchildren, Daniel, Jr. (Jessica), Brianna, Bobbi Sue (Dan), Michael, Elyjah, Haley, Maddox and Emily; his great grandchildren, Romeo and Amilio; his brother, James; several nieces and nephews and many loving family and friends. Lawrence will be greatly missed by his dedicated furry canine friend, Chylo.
In addition to his wife, Lawrence was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and Richard.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Wednesday September 7, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will immediately follow in Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lawrence's Memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands 12204 or to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
