GUILDERLAND- Lawrence J. "Larry" Tegiacchi joined the "Honey of his Life" Peggy (Margaret) into eternal happiness on April 28, 2023. He was 90 years young!

Born and raised in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Anna and Lorenzo Tegiacchi. He graduated from Draper HS and attended Albany College of Pharmacy before joining the Army, where he served in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. Returning to the U.S., he opened Capitol District Drug Sundries, where he worked until retirement. He was a shrewd businessman and loved talking to all of his customers, most of whom he befriended.

Larry was an avid fan of Saratoga Harness Track, where he owned many horses. He loved playing golf and hit TWO "holes in one." He rooted for NY sports teams- the Jets and the Mets. He also spent many hours of enjoyment at OTB and the casinos.

Peggy and Larry enjoyed winters in Vero Beach, Florida, where they golfed, enjoyed the sunshine and spending time with family. They also sailed on over 10 cruises.

Larry loved his family and was so very proud of them. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret "Peggy" who were happily married to for 34 years. He is survived by his devoted children: Pamela Roberts, Patricia Myers and John Taylor; his loving stepchildren: Kathy Taylor (Don Pompliano), Donna Harrington and Rick (Cindy) Taylor; adored by his grandchildren: Robin, Patrick (Liz), Kristine (Al), Alyssa (Mike), Michael (Katie), Bleu (Traci), Cody (Meredeth), Josh (Melissa) and Randy (Tiffany); beloved by his great grandchildren: Kayla, Oliva, Owen, Nadia, Aubrey, Michael, Everly, J.J., Levi, Lily and Gabriella; great great grandchildren: Dominick and Bailey; treasured by his sisters: Liz (John) Allred, Mary Ann Hewitt and sister-in-law, Jackie Tegiacchi; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his brother "Tim" Tegiacchi and his grandson Brian Myers.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Carlos Beria family who cared for him and made his last year a happy one.

Relatives and friend may call on Sunday May 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Monday May 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY 12203. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
