ALBANY – Lee E. "Pomroy" Wallace, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Rilley and Jackie May Wallace. Lee was a graduate of Albany High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated a tile business in Fayetteville, NC. Lee relocated to Albany and worked for General Electric Co. More recently, he worked for the Stewart's Shoppe from where he retired. Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Mildred R. Wallace. He is the father of Linda Jenkins, Maurice Wallace, Glacier Johnson, Arkeemia Wallace, Lee Wallace, Jr. and Ashley Baltes. Also surviving is his sister, Helen Franklin and his brother and long time friend, William Terry, Sr. as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 at the church. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
